When we consider a potential project: we prefer to meet with the homeowners, evaluate existing conditions, and discuss three critical topics: budget, design and timeline. Our professional experience has provided us guidelines about what we believe are the best ways to build and execute a project, and we only accept projects that align with our values. Once we understand your project goals and expectations, we can begin to assemble a construction plan that details each phase of your project down to the most specific elements.
Not yet ready for a construction plan? We offer other services that might help you prepare for your project in the meantime. We offer consulting and are happy to visit your existing property to discuss the feasibility of any renovations you have in mind. We can also visit any property you are considering purchasing, as well.
EFFICIENCY
We focus on one project at a time. Efficiency is critical to any construction project, and by focusing on one project at a time we are better able to complete projects on-time and on-budget. To meet the needs of some larger projects (additions, whole-home or multi-room remodels) we may recommend that an architect or designer be involved so that design decisions can be made and addressed in a timely manner, and so that we can focus on what we do best: building your project.
Not sure if you need to hire a design professional? Please contact us and ask! Steve has a degree in architectural design and plenty of design-build experience. On smaller projects (such as single-room remodels) we can provide construction drawings for you. We also have plenty of contacts in the industry who we may be able to refer you to, if further design services are required.
PRICING
Our projects can be complex and detailed. We’ve found that a transparent pricing model is the best way for our homeowners to determine what aspects of the project bring them the most value. We provide you with fixed pricing for management and the hands-on work that we provide. Then we bring you proposals from subcontractors we trust for the aspects of the work we don’t provide. Steve will be your point of contact on every project so that you never have to deal with communication delays from various, or multiple, subcontractors.
Will the price of the project change? If we are contracted for a fixed amount the price of the project will not change. If you add scope to the project you will be asked to approve a change order for the additional work before it begins. We will then update you with the new total cost of the project.
How do estimates work? Our estimates are free and we are glad to be considered for any project. Without a detailed plan and materials selected we won’t be able to give you an exact price for your project but we can provide a cost range. If you call or email us with some details of your project we will do our best to provide you a cost range, free of charge, based on the information you provide and photographs of the existing space.
